THE REBEL GIRLS writer-director-producer, Felicia D Henderson, screens her multi-awarding winning film in her hometown on August 17th. Founded in 1997, in Pasadena, CA, the Black August Film Festival, is a festival with a purpose. It highlights films that intentionally embrace issues related to social action and civil rights, and honors the 1979 prison-based commemoration of Black resistance begun by the Black Guerilla Family in San Quentin State Prison to honor fallen activists George and Jonathan Jackson. Felicia will be joined on stage by the film’s stars, Kyanna Simone, Avynn Crowder-Jones, and Honey Robinson.
